If you’re looking to become a part of the transportation industry here in the United States, now is most certainly the time. After all, the transportation industry is growing, a statement that is more than backed up by the research that has been conducted on the subject. From less than truckload logistics services to overweight shipping services and everything in between, there are many different important things that the transportation industry requires, putting the “why” behind the data that is about to be shared.

For the transportation industry has grown in a number of different ways. For one thing, the actual value of cargo has very much been on the rise over the course of recent years. By the time that we hit the year of 2040, the value of cargo will be more than $1,300 for just one ton of the stuff. In comparison, one single ton of cargo was only worth around $880, or just slightly over, back in the year of 2013 of our not so distant past. And while this is a compelling reason enough to see the overall importance of the industry of transportation, this is far from the only way in which we can see considerable growth.

After all, the actual volume of the cargo transported has increased dramatically as well, something that is just as important as tracking the overall increase in the value of this cargo, as is discussed directly above. Back in the year of 2013, only around 15 billion tons of cargo were transported on a yearly basis. You might think this is already quite a lot, and you wouldn’t be wrong, to say the very least. However, this number is one that is only set to increase, reaching more than 18.5 billion tons of cargo by the time that we reach that very same year of 2040. And past the year of 2040, who knows what growth the industries of transportation will see on a global scale – and particularly here in the United States, where such growth can be readily anticipated with a great deal of confidence.

And if you’re looking for a job within the industry of transportation and truckload logistics, you are likely to be able to find them. After all, the need for professionals in truckload shipping and truckload logistics, be they filling pharma logistics services or trade show services, is a high one, growing only higher with the continued growth that is discussed throughout this article. After all, there are as many as 12 million various vehicles and devices of transport used within this industry, the majority of them trucks and other such commercial vehicles. And already there are more than five and a half million people employed to operate them. Though such jobs require long stints on the road, they pay well most of the time, making them ideal positions for a great many people all throughout the United States.

But what is it, exactly, that has made the matters of truckload logistics more important than ever before? To put it simply, online shopping. E-commerce is an industry that has very much dominated the world, especially here in the United States. As a matter of fact, the data is yet again there to back it up, showing that the national industry surrounding e-commerce is already worth more than $420 billion. And in the years that are to come, this dollar value is one that is only likely to grow on an exponential scale. And with more goods being purchased more rapidly, the essential truckload logistics in this country must rise to meet this demand. And as the need for truckload logistics increases so dramatically, so too will the larger transportation industry as a whole.

At the end of the day, the world of truckload logistics is a changing one. But this is most certainly not a bad thing, as the benefits of online shopping are certainly vast. After all, online shopping has long been making life so much more convenient than it would otherwise be, to say the very least on the subject matter. And this will continue to hold true.
